For Teens
We offer inpatient and outpatient services for teens, ages 12-17 struggling with behavioral health or substance use disorders.

Glen Oaks Hospital can help teens struggling with mental illness, such as depression, anxiety or suicidal thoughts. Our specialized clinical staff works closely with each patient to develop better social and communication skills by helping them to understand their illness and take responsibility for their behavior.

We take a holistic approach – addressing the physical, psychological and emotional development of each patient. We also consider social and cultural factors to help prepare the teen to return to his or her home and community.

Parents play an active role in their teenager’s treatment through regular attendance at family therapy sessions and visiting hours.

In addition to family and group therapy, we also offer Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), utilized to change current thinking patterns and behavior resulting in more positive feelings.

Adolescent patients continue their education through a certified teacher coordinated by the Greenville School District’s ISD. Students may bring work from their current school to complete or enroll in the Greenville ISD while in treatment. Our teachers work with the child’s school to ensure academic continuity.

For teens suffering from addiction to drugs or alcohol, Glen Oaks Hospital provides medical detox services and education about disease management and relapse prevention.

Outpatient Services

Glen Oaks Hospital offers partial hospitalization programs for teens requiring an outpatient level of care. Outpatient programming is geared toward adolescents who need a supportive and structured environment but do not require inpatient care.

Partial hospitalization is offered five days a week and includes breakfast and lunch.

Outpatient programs provide the extra support needed following inpatient hospitalization or helps patients regain stability during a difficult time.
